#GreengramVadai #MoongdalVadai #Payaruvadai : Green gram #vadai has been prepared using green gram dal. This is a famous snack in Raipur, the capital of Chattisgarh, India just like our mouth watering masaal vadai / paruppu vadai of Tamil Nadu, India.
Ingredients :
To make dough :
1/4 cup Sprouted Green gram
1/4 cup Green gram with skin
2 Red chilly
1/4 Tsp Asafoetida
1/2 inch Ginger piece
1/2 Tsp Cumin
1/2 Tsp Fennel
1/2 Tsp Salt [ Adjust ]
To mix with Dough :
1 small size Onion, chop nicely
3 Tsp Coriander leaves chopped nicely
8 Curry leaves
6 Spinach, chop nicely { if desired }
Oil to Fry vadas.
Method :
Soak green gram the previous day morning.
Let it stand the whole day.
In the evening drain water and close with lid.
Allow to stand for whole night so that sprouts appear the next day morning.
Soak green gram dal just one hour before start preparing vadas.
After an hour take all the given ingredients in a mixie jar.
Grind coarsely without adding water.
Transfer into a bowl.
Keep a kadai with oil on a stove over a medium flame.
Add all the given chopped ingredients to the dough.
Mix well.
Make small small balls.
When the oil becomes hot, slowly drop into oil one by one to fry.
Fry five or six together at a time.
Keep stirring and flipping sides with a long ladle to fry well.
Fry until vadas turns golden brown color.
Transfer on to a tissue paper to remove excess oil.
A very good snack for evening!
Enjoy with a hot coffee/tea.
