#BeansStirFrywithGreengram - #BeansPoriyalwithGreengram : We have already seen the preparation of Beans Stir fry. Here the stir fry is done with soaked green gram lentil which gives a different taste and also increases its nutritional value.
Here comes the recipe
Ingredients :
Beans : 1/4 kg
sambar powder : 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder : a pinch
Salt : 1/4 tsp ( adjust )
Coconut scrapings : 2 tsp
To Soak :
Green gram lentil : 2 Tbsp
For tempering :
Red chilly : 1 ( optional )
Mustard seeds : 1/4 tsp
Urad dhal : 1 tsp
Oil : 1/2 tsp
Method :
Soak dal for ten minutes.
Snap ends of the beans and pull out fiber.
Chop all the beans into small pieces of equal size.
Take a cooker/pan with 1/2 cup of water and add sambar powder, salt, & turmeric powder.
Then add chopped beans and close the cooker with weight on and cook for 1 whistle.
Immediately release steam and transfer the cooked beans into a bowl.
Do not throw away cooked water. It can be added either to sambar
or koottu.
Now keep a kadai with oil on a stove over slow flame.
When the oil becomes hot splutter mustard seeds and add broken red chilly & urad dhal.
When the dhal becomes golden brown add soaked dal after draining water completely.
Saute for a minute.
Now add cooked beans, adjust salt and stir well on high flame till the water dries up.
Take care not to change the color of vegetable by keeping it on fire more than the required time.
Now add coconut scrapings, adjust salt and mix well.for few seconds.
Transfer into a serving bowl.
