#KnolkholStirFry - # KnolkholPoriyal : #Knolkhol [ #Noolkol ] is a root vegetable just like Turnip. This vegetable can be used in the preparation of sambar, Vegetable kurma and also to prepare stir fry. Here is the recipe to prepare knolkhol #stirfry.
Ingredients :
1 Cup Knolkhol grated
1 Tsp Carrot grated
1/4 Cup Onion chopped nicely
1/4 Cup Coriander leaves
2 Tsp Coconut Scrapings
1/2 Tsp Salt
To Temper :
1/2 Tsp Mustard seeds
1 Tsp Urad Dal
1 or 2 Red chilly, break into pieces
1 Tsp Oil
Method :
Keep a kadai with oil on a burner over a medium flame.
Crackle mustard seeds and then add red chilly pieces and urad dal.
When dal becomes golden color, add coriander leaves and onion.
Saute for 2 minutes or till the onion changes to pink color.
Now add knolkhol, carrot and enough salt.
Mix well with a ladle.
Cover with a lid and cook over a low flame.
Knolkhol takes very less time to become soft.
Finally add coconut scrapings and mix well over a high flame.
Turn off the burner and transfer into a serving bowl.
Garnish with coriander leaves.
It goes well with sambar rice ( Hot white rice mixed with sambar )
and rasam rice ( Hot white rice mixed with rasam).
