Most of the road side tea/coffee shops invite you with hot banana bajji or long green chilly bajji and its always a great pleasure biting a spicy bajji along with hot tea.
Ingredients :
for batter :
besan ( gram flour-kadalai maavu ) : 3 tblsp
Rice flour : 1 tblsp
Turmeric powder : a pinch
Red chilly powder : 1/2 tsp ( adjust )
Asafoetida : a pinch
Salt : 1/2 tsp
Cooking soda : a pinch ( optional )
To fry :
oil : 1 cup
Vegetables :
Onion : 1 medium size
Brinjal : 1 big size
Potato : 1 medium size
Method :
Take oil in a kadai and keep on a stove over medium flame.
Take all the ingredients to prepare batter in a basin.
Add water and make a thick batter.
Now cut all the vegetables into thin circular slices or any shape of your choice.
When oil is hot dip the vegetables in batter and slowly slide into oil.
Fry well to get nice golden color on both sides.
Drain oil and transfer onto a plate lined with tissue paper to absorb excess oil.
Serve with hot tea/coffee.
