Arisi Roti

#ArisiRoti - a famous recipe of Karnataka called #AkkiRoti.
#AkkiRoti is usually prepared from rice flour. Here I have used softly cooked rice and rice flour in combination. The roti should be consumed when it is hot.

Arisi Roti [ Akki Roti ]

Ingredients :
Cooked rice                       : 1 cup
Rice flour                           : 1/2 cup
Curry leaves                       : 8
Coriander leaves                 ; 3 tblsp ( thinly chopped )
Onion                                 : 1 ( nicely chopped )
Grated carrot                       : 3 tblsp
Pepper powder                    : 1 tsp
Salt                                     : 1/2 tsp ( adjust )
oil for making roti on tawa.

Method :
Take hot rice in a wide mouthed vessel.
Mash with a potato masher.
Then transfer all the other given ingredients to mashed rice.
Mix well with hand & make a dough of chappathy consistency.
If the dough is watery add some more rice flour.
Heat tawa on a stove with medium flame.
Take a banana leaf or a plastic sheet to make roti.
Smear oil over the leaf/plastic sheet then spread a ball of dough on it evenly.
Put few drops of oil on tawa and when it becomes hot transfer roti from sheet onto tawa.
Add drops of oil over roti. Cook both sides well and transfer to a serving plate.

Make roti on a medium flame and it takes considerable time to get cooked.

Note : nicely chopped capsicum can also be added.

Instead of 1/2 cup rice flour 1/4 cup rice flour + 1/4 cup oats can also be taken.

To make it more spicy add thinly chopped green chillies.

Arisi roti goes well with kadalai chutny, coconut chutny

tomato sauce and also with tomato chutny
