It requires only ten minutes to make if #greengramsprouts are readily available at home.
A very good evening snack.
Ingredients :
Sprouted green gram ( payaru ) : 1 cup
Mustard seeds : 1/4 tsp
Urad dhal : 1 tsp
Red chilly : 1( adjust )
Curry leaves : 8
Pounded garlic cloves : 2
Asafoetida : a pinch
Spinach : 5 or 6 leaves [ optional ]
Capsicum chopped : 1 Tbsp [ optional ]
Carrot grated : 1 Tsp
Oil : 1 Tsp
Method :
Keep a kadai over slow flame with oil.
When the oil becomes hot splutter mustard seeds.
Then add broken red chilly pieces.
Now add urad dhal and fry until golden brown in color.
Now add curry leaves, garlic and asafoetida powder.
Now add 2 tsp of water and then sprouted gram and capsicum.
Add salt and mix well.
Cover with a lid and cook till the sprouted green gram becomes soft.
Finally add chopped spinach and grated carrot.
Saute for a minute.
Now the sundal is ready. Transfer into a serving bowl.
Note : 2 tsp of grated coconut can also be added finally just before turning off the stove which gives a unique taste to sundal.
It goes well with rasam rice & can also be relished as an evening Snack along with coffee/tea.
