#ParuppuThuvaiyal - Pulichaaru or paruppu thuvaiyal - vatha kuzhambu with sutta appalam is one of the best combinations to have with white rice. Everyone likes this combo. This is usually done on those days when there is no vegetables to cook at home. Now let us see how to prepare this thuvaiyal.

Once all the ingredients are coarsely ground add enough water and grind nicely.

Goes well with hot white rice. This has to be mixed well with white rice along with a tsp  of gingelly oil (oil of sesame). Good combination for this rice is Pulicharu.

Veg Balls in Chilli Garlic Sauce

My recipe for veg balls in chilli garlic sauce derived from various sources. I was craving for some good indo Chinese food for a while. And was eager to try this recipe for a week now. Having bought all the ingredients just was waiting to find some time to do it. Finally made this dish yesterday .

Veg balls
3 tsp maida
2 tsp corn starch
1 1/2 cup cabbage finely shredded
1 cup grated carrot
1/4 cup baby corn
1/2 cup green onion ( spring onion leaves)
chillies - 2
salt 1 tsp

For the gravy
2 tsp corn starch
2-3 tbsp dark soy
2 tsp vinegar
spring onion - 1/2 cup
2 tbsp cabbage
garlic - 3-4
chillies- 3
veg stock 1/2 cup
1 tbsp tomato sauce
salt

1)add salt to all the cut vegetables  and let it rest for 15 mins , then sqeeze the water out of it and add the flours to it and mix well
2) Make small round balls with the mixture and fry in medium heat oil till crisp and brown..
3) Drain the excess oil by placing the fried balls on a kitchen paper towel.
4) In a pan add oil ( can use the oil which was used to fry the balls) and saute garlic and chilli then add the spring onions( not the green part, add the green onions at last) and the cabbage and saute till slightly cooked. 5)Add vegetable stock and also add corn starch mixed with water. Add soy sauce and vinegar and little tomato sauce and a pinch of salt.
6)mix well and once it starts to simmer add the fried veg ball to it.. let it simmer to 2 - 3 min then take it off the flame and let it soak in the yummy sauce.

Goes well with fried rice or ghee rice.
This dish turned out brilliantly in the first attempt.
